Co-Director
Luke is a strategic digital leader with extensive experience in leading change at system and institutional levels, across health and care, industry, and academic interfaces. Luke has a strong commitment to innovation and knowledge transfer. A track record in service transformation exploiting digital, data & technology adoption at scale, through effective programme delivery, partnership working, and public trust acknowledged at the highest level of NHS, government, and by peers in the public, higher education, and private sectors
David Hancock
Co-Director
David is an independent consultant and the tecUK representative on the INTEROPen Board. He has been working in the interoperability arena for 15 years. He has been the Vendor Chair since 2019 and is one of the two directors of INTEROPen
Board Members
Adam Hatherly
Adam is the Technical Director for Graphnet Health and has a wealth of experience in delivering interoperable solutions using FHIR and other standards, both within Graphnet and in previous roles working on national systems at NHS Digital.
Andy Kinnear
Former NHS CIO and founding member of INTEROpen. Currently splitting time between NHS South, Central & West, and Ethical Healthcare advising all who will listen on the promises and pitfalls of digital transformation in health & care. Every bit as passionate about the collaboration approach to technical standards and adoption as I was at the start of this amazing journey. Proud of how we have developed a model for NHS and industry to work hand in glove in this complex space.
Ben Wilson
Ben Wilson has worked in Healthcare Technology, since 2004 in a variety of roles including Implementation, Development, and now Management and Leadership positions. Ben frequently collaborates with industry standards bodies, notable as the first vendor to self-assess and contribute to the development of the PRSB Core Standard 2.0. He also maintains regular engagement with NHSE/I on interoperability initiatives. Ben is passionate about the importance of standards-based adoption across the NHS, to ensure the safe flow of information to ensure an individual can receive the best possible care.
Ian McNicoll
Ian is a former Scottish GP and Founding Fellow of the UK Faculty of Clinical Informatics. Within INTEROpen he represents the openEHR UK community, as an openEHR-UK and openEHR Foundation Board member
Ian Townend
Ian has been involved with INTEROPen since its inception. He is currently Deputy Director of Technology Strategy, Architecture and Standards for NHS England which is a keen supporter of INTEROPen. He has worked in health informatics for 18 years initially working on HL7 v3 models before taking up a wider standards role and adding architecture to his remit in 2015
Jill DeBene
Jill has worked extensively in Health as both an NHS Manager and working with Consultancy and Technology companies and is currently the proud CEO of Sitekit. Jill's passion for technology as an enabler for change was first ignited when she managed a District General hospital. Jill has delivered complex IT and Change programmes over a large number of Trusts. Jill is delighted to bring her experience to InterOpen and enjoy the culture of learning and improving through the rich experience of all its members.
Peter Coates
Peter is the Managing Director of The Apperta Foundation CIC, the home of OpenEyes speciality EPR, openOutcomes digital PROMS Platform, The UK CKM, and openEHR UK. Peter has previously held senior positions across central and local government driving digitally enabled service improvement and alternative service delivery models.
Rebecca Hughes
Becky is the Director of Partner Solutions for the PRSB. A member of the executive team, Becky leads relationships with system suppliers, provision of implementation support and guidance for suppliers and providers, and conformance assessment of the implementation of standards.
Richard Kavanagh
Richard is a data consultant with an excess of 15 years of experience leading the development of healthcare technology projects. Richard has led the English NHS national interoperability standards team for many years, followed by lead roles in the private sector. Currently, he is a data consultant within a digital transformation agency allowing him to shape and advise on healthcare technology projects ranging from small startups to national systems both in the UK and further afield. Richard is a board member of both HL7UK and openEHR
